Our cooperation and partnership with the Vatican has not stopped since our meeting with Pope Francis

Civilized and cultural human communication with followers of other religions and cultures is at the core of our movement

We carry the concerns and issues of the Islamic peoples inside and outside the Islamic world, and we have many programs and initiatives

Dr. Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Essa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, stressed, in an exclusive interview for a European magazine published in the European Union, that civilized and cultural human communication with followers of other religions and cultures is at the heart of Al-Essa’s movement.

The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League said, in his interview with the magazine “Let’s Get To Know” issued by the European Organization of Islamic Centers, based in Switzerland, and published in the countries of the European Union: We carry the concerns and issues of Islamic peoples inside and outside the Islamic world, and we have many programs and initiatives that serve Muslims.

Al-Issa continued, during the dialogue conducted by Muhajire Zayan, head of the European Organization of Islamic Centers and supervisor of the magazine: We work in this humanitarian aspect through direct communication with governments. We deal only with governments directly or with licensed institutions, and also if it is with a direct recommendation from the government to adopt them as a mediator. We do not differentiate in this humanitarian work at all, not for religious, ethnic, political or other reasons. In addition, we do not engage in politics unless it supports world peace and the harmony of societies. And to enhance friendship between peoples, the dialogue included the following details:

Unprecedented advocacy and intellectual efforts undertaken by the Muslim World League during the recent period, we would like to point out some of them?

The Muslim World League is facing a very great duty and a heavy responsibility that the Muslim and non-Muslim world aspires to as it (according to its founding system) is an umbrella for the Islamic peoples and works on everything that serves humanity, based on Islamic and universal values. The Islamic peoples are from the united qiblah for Muslims in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, where the Muslim World League is based.

The association has three main tasks, the first are:

Clarifying the truth of Islam, and this is done on two parallel axes, the first of which is by confronting the ideas of extremism that deviated from the true religion by clarifying Islamic facts and spreading moderation and mediation, in addition to spreading awareness of the importance of sound thinking, and fortifying religious sentiment by being framed by the assimilation of facts and not the emotion that is stripped of awareness that is It will lead its owners to negative thinking and extremist or violent thoughts, God forbid.

In this axis, the League is working to consolidate the concepts of moderation and moderation in the context of our efforts to promote awareness in the Islamic interior. It is an important axis for us, and it is implemented through multiple structures, programs, practical initiatives and effective activities around the Islamic world, most of which are organized directly with governments and national institutions of interest and competence in each country, and we have achieved, praise be to God, in this remarkable results. We believe that this work is the real work in which Islam is actually served.

The second axis in the task of clarifying the truth of Islam is related to exposing the illusions or fallacies of the ideas of counter-extremism and offensive to Islam, and the so-called fear of Islam or “Islamophobia”.

As for the second task of the Muslim World League, it is the civilizational and cultural communication with the followers of various religions and cultures. The third task is humanitarian services to poor communities, the needy and victims of crises and disasters, and the establishment and support of development projects that serve these segments.

With the importance of reminding here that we in the Muslim World League work in this humanitarian aspect through direct communication with governments. We deal only with governments directly or with licensed institutions, and also if it is with a direct recommendation from the government to adopt them as a mediator. We do not differentiate in this humanitarian work at all, not for religious, ethnic, political or other reasons. In addition, we do not engage in politics unless it supports world peace and the harmony of societies. and promoting friendship between peoples.

As for our approach to our performance, it depends on the concept of “perfection”, which corresponds to the term “quality” – although it is less accurate and clear than the concept of perfection -. We work in a scientific manner and according to systematic measurements to reach tangible results that are subject to follow-up and evaluation, and then correction and development, and any process that has unclear goals or cannot be measured or does not achieve an effective and tangible impact, we exclude it as a consumption of money, time and effort.

The League’s stances towards the issues of the Islamic world and confronting the plots being hatched against the Islamic countries has become a wall in front of these schemes?

We in the Muslim World League bear the concerns and issues of Islamic peoples inside and outside the Islamic world. We have many programs and initiatives that serve Muslims in the Islamic world, promote Islamic youth, and serve Muslim communities in non-Muslim countries. It also serves minorities who are subjected to violence or harassment without interfering in their religious or national affairs. Rather, we advocate and support their independence in fatwas and their integration into their national societies.

We also have, by the grace of God, the irrefutable Islamic facts through religious texts that are full of lofty human values, which would silence all dissonant voices. And refute all extremist ideas that seek to create a misleading mental image of Islam. An image that not everyone embraces, of course, although some are affected by it.

We have been able to achieve a lot in this context, and many voices of hatred have turned to reason, fairness and sometimes friendship. All this is done with the voice of reason, wisdom, and sincere and continuous brotherly dialogue, specifically direct meetings with the violators, regardless of the degree of their differences.

– What about the League’s efforts in communicating with non-Muslims to achieve the meanings of human brotherhood?
